Multifaith Student Council

Mission and Purpose

Elon鈥檚 Multifaith Student Council brings student leaders together across religious, spiritual, ethical, and cultural identities to build community, foster collaboration, and shape a campus culture where all students can explore faith, meaning, purpose, and identity.

  • Bridging identities:聽The council brings together student leaders from diverse religious, spiritual, ethical, and cultural organizations to build relationships, learn from one another, and engage in interfaith dialogue.
  • Fostering collaboration:聽Members of the council share ideas, support one another鈥檚 programs, and develop collaborative interfaith initiatives to enhance their own organizations, as well as invite the broader campus community into conversation and connection.
  • Promoting inclusion:聽The council helps create a campus where students of every belief, tradition, or worldview can feel respected and supported while exploring questions of faith, meaning, purpose, and identity.聽 Members engage in religious literacy workshops, anti-bias education, and initiatives that promote greater understanding and inclusion.

The Council is led by Hillary Zaken, Director of Multifaith Programming and Engagement, and Imam Shane Atkinson, Associate Chaplain for Muslim Life, and is comprised of presidents and vice presidents of religious organizations, affiliate ministries, Multifaith interns, and student leaders from other Truitt Center initiatives.
