Alternative Breaks

Alternative Breaks are immersive service experiences designed to introduce students to new communities while working to address pressing domestic and global social issues. Participating in an Alternative Break is a great way to get to know other students, make a positive impact, and have a meaningful fall or spring break!听Check out this year’s programs and click on the links for each community partner to learn more:

Fall Break 2026 (October 15-17, 2026)

*Scholarships are available for all Fall Break programs

Urban Housing and Homelessness (Charlotte, NC):听Participants will learn about housing insecurity and related social issues in North Carolina’s largest city while working with organizations like , , and the . Student fee: $200.

Spring Break 2027

Community Development (Costa Rica), 3/13-20, 2027:听Participants will live in and volunteer alongside a Nicaraguan refugee community in Costa Rica with . Student fee (including transportation, lodging and food):
