New global studies textbook features work by Elon faculty

Professors Tom Arcaro and Rosemary Haskell tackle those questions in a new co-edited textbook and anthology, Understanding the Global Experience: Becoming a Responsible World Citizen, with chapters on topics ranging from the environment to religion to the international media.

Kathy Matera named to A.L. Hook science and mathematics professorship

Kathryn Mansfield Matera, associate professor of chemistry, has been selected as the third recipient of the A.L. Hook Emerging Scholar Professorship in Science and Mathematics at ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·. The professorship provides funding and opportunities for faculty to mentor students and involve undergraduates in research and special projects.
Spring 09: Elon awards honorary doctorate to alumnus Noel Allen

Noel Lee Allen, a 1969 Elon alumnus whose distinguished legal career has won international accolades, received an honorary doctor of humane letters during ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·’s Convocation for Honors on March 31. The degree was conferred by President Leo M. Lambert and presented by John G. Sullivan, professor emeritus of philosophy.
