¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· faculty and staff remembered the namesake of Belk Library on Tuesday in a brief gathering to celebrate the life of a North Carolina philanthropist praised for her deep commitment to education.

The namesake of the university’s library died Monday in Charlotte, North Carolina, two days shy of her 87th birthday. A brief remembrance service takes place today in the Oak Grove lounge on the south end of the library’s first floor.

The university’s highest honor was bestowed Monday upon five recipients for their meritorious service to the school.

Belk Library's Dianne Ford led the planning team for the first Science Boot Camp Southeast for Librarians.

Belk Library's hours will be modified due to the 4th of July holiday.

Lashendock, video archive technologist in Elon's Belk Library, presented two sessions during the annual Association of Higher Education Campus Television Administrators (AHECTA) conference on June 26, 2014 in Denver. 

The Class of 2014 is sending more scholars overseas next year with Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grants than any previous class in ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· history.

Two ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· students studying to be teachers and a School of Education staff member converted a newspaper stand to offer campus visitors a selection of books available for borrowing and return at no cost.
