Psychology lab at Elon recruiting walking infants under 14 months old for study on problem solving

Calling all parents of little movers! The developmental psychology research study aims to understand how walking infants under 14 months of age reach for toys during play.

罢丑别听聽is conducting a fun and exciting research study to understand how walking experience affects infants鈥 ability to plan and problem solve. We aim to observe how babies move and use their bodies strategically as they reach for toys during play. We aim to track development in walking infants younger than 14 months of age during sessions occurring once weekly for 4 to 6 weekly observations. Each visit is held with one family at a time and typically lasts about one hour, and parking is available onsite.聽

Families who participate may聽enjoy reflecting on their baby鈥檚 development, which could inspire them to learn more about their child鈥檚 behaviors. In addition, findings from this study will help聽clinicians understand infant motor development. Families will be compensated for their time with gift cards valuing up to $120 ($20 for each session), a scrapbook souvenir and a certificate of completion at the end of the study. Let’s make baby steps towards big discoveries together!

If you or someone you know is interested in participating, or if you聽have additional questions about the study, please sign up using the form . You can also email us at聽infantlab@elon.edu聽or聽.
