Associate Professor of Finance Chris Harris recently offered his insights into the planned merger of First Horizon Bank and TD Bank for a Triangle Business Journal article.
Reporter Lauren Ohnesorge’s article examined the implications of the deal that will combine Memphis-based First Horizon and Toronto-based TD. Harris, who is chair of the Department of Finance, shared the the deal provides a lot of opportunity for TD Bank in the Southeast. First Horizon already has market share, but the challenge will be determining how to expand upon what First Horizon has already established, Harris said.
鈥淭hey have to start thinking, how do we take what鈥檚 worked and put it to scale,鈥 Harris said. 鈥淗ow can we continue to grow what鈥檚 been a winning recipe and not lose the aspects that have been good.鈥
