Legal Professions Scholars聽are academically strong students interested in pursuing a career in legal education. Elon students in their first and second years work with dedicated faculty mentors learning about the law alongside a community of peers from various majors across campus with similar interests. Critical thinking, problem-solving and professionalism are emphasized.

Program Highlights

In the first year, students participate in engaging experiences with attorneys and other legal professionals. Fifteen first-year students will:

  • Attend a welcome gathering at the beginning of the academic year to meet current Legal Professions Scholars and and share experiences
  • Take Elon 1010 and COR 1100 in the first year, taught by the director of Legal Professions Scholars
  • Connect with law-related campus opportunities including聽Phi Alpha Delta and Mock Trial
  • Attend lectures and panel discussions on law-related topics聽followed by a meal with guest speakers for discussions聽and analysis
  • Take POL 2100: Intro to the Study of Law in the second year in order to develop an understanding of聽legal聽readings, research materials, and聽legal聽professionalization, taught by 福利亚洲国产精品 Law School faculty

Ready to Apply?

Students with substantial and broad leadership experiences in their high school and/or communities are competitive candidates for Elon鈥檚 Scholars programs. Fifteen Legal Professions Scholars are selected in each first-year class.

The Scholars application opens February 1, 2026. The application deadline is April 15, 2026.
