Benefits of Being an Elon College Fellow

  • Be part of a special intellectual community of faculty and students in which you will be challenged to reach your full potential at Elon.
  • Form close associations with other Fellows, Fellows Directors and other faculty, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Take classes that make you think in different ways and that prepare you to begin your Fellows Project. Most students say that their Fellows classes help them perform better in their other classes.
  • Engage in a two-year mentorship with a faculty member in your chosen major. You will pursue a special study in your major and complete a Fellows Project.
  • Learn from and enjoy other Fellows opportunities such as colloquia, socials, celebrations and a five-day trip to Washington, D.C.
  • Have your first-year residence in the Elon College Fellows Living-Learning Community (LLC) located in the Academic Village. This community offers special academic, social and personal development opportunities for new students.
  • Use a $1,000 Elon College Fellows Global Study grant to support an Elon-approved study abroad or Study USA experience.
  • Apply for funding to support your Fellows Project.
  • Receive an Elon College Fellows academic scholarship valued at $8,000 annually. This is in addition to any Presidential Scholarship or Elon Engagement scholarship awarded, which is renewable as long as the student remains a Fellow in good standing.
    • Elon College Fellows who plan to attend medical school may apply for Jane M. Baird Pre-Medical Scholarships that provide an additional $4,000 per year.
