Professor Cynthia Fair of the Department of Public Health Studies is renowned for her research into the changes in the HIV/AIDS epidemic. 

Professor Tom Mould from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology becomes Elon’s second faculty member to receive the honor. 

In her first opening address as Elon's president, Connie Ledoux Book focused on planning for Elon's future while being mindful of the past. Book delivered the address August 20 to a crowd of faculty and staff gathered in the new Schar Center.

Elon President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to two retired faculty members and two steadfast supporters of the university during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized four named professorships during the event.

Awtrey, an associate professor of mathematics at Elon, received the Henry L. Alder Award from the Mathematics Association of America at its national MathFest conference.

A busy summer for construction crews means ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· will be dedicating new residential, dining, academic and athletics facilities within the next several months.
