Five people who make a difference in their communities will be honored on campus Nov. 5 in the 14th Annual “Hometown Heroes” awards ceremony. After retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor spoke at the dedication of ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·â€™s new School of Law in 2006, a lecture in her name was instituted at Elon in 2007. Professor A.E. Dick Howard of the University of Virginia delivered the inaugural Sandra Day O’Connor Lecture on Thursday, October 18, 2007, in Whitley Auditorium on Elon’s main campus.
