Elon Hillel was the sole recipient of the Great Place to Work Award, also recognized for Excellence in Breadth for student engagement

Hundreds gathered on a chilly night Tuesday to celebrate the start of the holiday season and see the campus glow during the annual celebration.

The annual gathering will begin on Scott Plaza in front of Alamance Building at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Join the entire Elon community for a university tradition and celebration of light that kicks off the winter holiday season.

A range of events during the month of November is organized by the Center for Race, Ethnicity & Diversity Education and its partners.

Safi, a professor of Asian and Middle Eastern studies at Duke University, will lecture based on his recent book, "Radical Love — Teachings from the Islamic Mystical Tradition," a collection of Sufi poetry with commentary. 

The sand mandala, which features colorful sand carefully constructed by a Buddhist monk, is meant to spread healing and peace.

Hillel and Chabad student leaders join together after shooting incident

The Hazon Seal of Sustainability certifies a Jewish organization’s commitment to safeguarding the environment. Elon Hillel was the only organization in N.C. to receive the honor.

Parents Leonard and Lisa Dick P’20 and grandparents Richard and Marcia Schulman GP’20 generously support efforts to mentor first-year Jewish students. Their gift is part of the $250 million Elon LEADS Campaign.

 

The Sept. 11 dinner provided an opportunity for Alamance County and ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· community members to engage in open and honest conversations regarding the portrayal of Muslims in the media, the role the Masjid plays in the community and other related topics.
