Graduates in Elon Law’s Class of 2019 were recognized Friday with school and professional honors for advocacy, legal writing and research, academic excellence, and excellence in service.

�������޹�����Ʒ School of Law conferred 107 degrees in a Commencement ceremony on Saturday that featured an address by Chief Justice Cheri L. Beasley of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, who tasked the Class of 2019 with using the knowledge bestowed by a legal education to expand access to the justice system.

The four scholarship recipients were recognized at an October gala for their academic achievement and distinguished record of leadership in law school.

The 2020 edition of “The Best 167 Law Schools" featured student praise for Elon Law’s faculty, its 2.5-year curriculum, and its highly experiential approach to legal education with a residency-in-practice program that is “a tremendous asset to this school.”

Executive board members and class representatives help lead an umbrella organization that governs other law school organizations and committees.

Twelve of �������޹�����Ʒ School of Law's top students will guide the publication next year of the student-run and student-edited scholarly journal.

During his keynote remarks for an evening awards banquet, the Hon. Robert N. Hunter Jr. encouraged dozens of students from law schools across the country who competed in Elon Law’s 10th Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition to learn from mistakes and to recognize the value of the work they perform for clients.

Kjirsten Durand-Johnson L’20 has been honored in the most recent Adam A. Milani Disability Law Writing Competition for a class assignment she parlayed into a formal contest submission.

The Hispanic and Latinx Law Students Association is hosting events open to the entire Elon Law community in commemoration of September’s Hispanic Heritage Month.

Twenty-five students in the Class of 2020 will help guide the school's moot court program over the next year by participating in upcoming national contests and coordinating Elon Law's own national moot court competition.
