The events were postponed due to the arrival of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina. 

Seventeen members of Elon News Network stayed on campus last week to cover the impact of Hurricane Florence, regularly updating the campus on the unpredictable nature of the storm and the effects it had on community members.

President Book offers this video message as the Elon community returns to campus following Hurricane Florence, which devastated the coastal areas of North Carolina and South Carolina and has caused widespread and catastrophic flooding. 

A series of videos featuring a variety of leaders from around ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·'s campus with helpful advice on how to stay safe during Hurricane Florence. 

Elon offers pluralistic prayer services and community meals on campus as part of Rosh Hashanah.

The commemoration will also include viewings of "United 93," a film about the hijacked plane that crashed in rural Pennsylvania during the terrorist attacks, in LaRose Theatre on Sept. 11. 

During his 10-week fellowship this summer, the journalism major and Elon News Network executive director joined 37 student journalists from across the country to explore the growing climate of hate in the United States.

This marks the fourth year of recognition by the Campus Pride organization. 

The ceremony Wednesday offered a look ahead at the new student gathering space now being built within the Historic Neighborhood thanks to the generosity of Gail H. LaRose '64 and her daughter, Elon trustee Michelle LaRose. 

The 1,690 members of the Class of 2022 were met by hundreds from the ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· community to help them settle into their new homes and begin their academic careers at the university.
