At its annual awards celebration on April 10 in Turner Theatre, the School of Communications recognized outstanding student accomplishments, presented its Outstanding Senior Awards, and honored this year’s Kappa Tau Alpha honor society inductees.

The School of Communications faculty members published new research analyzing more than 3,200 LinkedIn job postings to clarify how U.S. employers distinguish between UX and UI design roles. Their findings reveal overlapping competencies but highlight key differences in skillsets, responsibilities, and tool usage between the two fields.

Supported by faculty mentors, the student participation showcased Elon’s strong academic presence and commitment to undergraduate research in journalism and communications.

Forty-six Fellows participated in the annual Sunshine State trip, visiting communication companies, meeting industry professionals, and honing their networking skills.

The strategic communications major was one of 50 students nationwide selected for the advertising industry’s premier multicultural recruiting initiative.

Published in January by Wiley Publishers, Hannam’s book serves as a comprehensive, full-color guide to graphic design for beginners.

Presented by the School of Communications Inclusive Excellence Committee, the interactive event brought together students, faculty, staff and alumni to discuss a broad range of issues related to inclusivity in communications, journalism and the media.

The assistant professor of strategic communications recently published two articles examining how digital communication influences bystander intervention against rape myths and engagement with feminist movements like #MeToo.

Hosted by the school’s Inclusive Excellence Committee, the interactive event will bring together students, faculty and staff to explore topics such as investigative journalism, media diversity, health disparities, and sports equity, with a special emphasis on undergraduate research advancing DEI efforts.
