During its annual awards celebration, hosted April 18 in Turner Theatre, the School of Communications acknowledged exemplary student achievement, presented Outstanding Senior Awards, and celebrated this year’s inductees in the Kappa Tau Alpha honors society.

Titled “Game On: How Sports Media Grew Up, Sold Out, and Got Personal with Billions of Fans,” Bockino’s book – published on April 1 – is the first comprehensive, general audience history of the sports media industry.

The �������޹�����Ʒ senior and assistant professor of communication design, as well as Live Oak Communications, earned Gold Awards at the inaugural AEJMC Festival of Visual & Interactive Media contest. Additionally, Matt Newberry’s work was recently recognized in the Graphis New Talent Annual, which celebrates the top creative work from students across the globe.

Assistant Professors Kai Swanson and Matthew Blomberg led students to Hollywood and Park City, Utah, during Winter Term for an immersion experience into the film and entertainment industries.

The student-run strategic communications and design agency was celebrated on March 7 at the American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) gala, hosted in Raleigh by the American Advertising Federation of the Triangle (AAF Triangle).

DeLoach, professor of economics, and Stansberry, associate professor of strategic communication, have been selected as the 2024-26 Data Nexus Scholars.

The associate professor of strategic communications served as one of five members on the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication accreditation site visit team at Drake’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cook, a 2015 Elon graduate and 2018 graduate of the university's Interactive Media program, has found success as a graphic designer based in Durham.
