Communications faculty and staff celebrated this year’s COM and SEM seniors and their families with a May 22 reception on Manfuso Plaza.

Following an inspiring Winter Term experience, Drew Forte ’15 and several other ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· students collected more than 200 items of baseball equipment and shipped them in May to youth organizations in the Caribbean country.

Students in the Sport and Event Management Department hosted an April 27 charity dinner, raising $800 in support of Communication Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Sport and Event Management Department hosted a May 7 event to present projects students have worked on throughout the spring 2015 semester.

Students and faculty members of the School of Communications participated in the 22nd annual Spring Undergraduate Research Forum, spending the day sharing their scholarship with the Elon community.

The school hosted its annual awards ceremony on April 23 to recognize high achievement from students and faculty in the last year.

An ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· assistant professor, and a junior sport and event management major, will have prominent roles in the collegiate recreational sports organization, particularly with issues relating to its April 2016 conference held in Kissimmee, Florida.

Six ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· students participated in the March conference’s student competition, analyzing and presenting a real baseball operations decision: trading a certain Philadelphia Phillies left-hander for maximum return. The students will discuss their Arizona presentation on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Koury Business Center, room 208.

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·’s Premier Sport & Event Society brought together professionals from various aspects of the communications, event planning and sports industries on April 7 to share their insight and advice.
