Here's a look at where some of the 2022 School of Communications graduates are headed after they graduate.

During its annual awards ceremony, hosted May 5 in Turner Theatre, the school acknowledged high achievement from students, faculty and staff, hosted the first induction of its Kappa Tau Alpha honors society, and bid farewell to retiring Associate Professor Michael Skube.

Among the award recipients were Claire Latimer ’22, who was presented with the Major of the Year Award, and Brynja Burton ’25, who earned the Rising Phoenix Award.

The executive director of the NFL Players Association served as the keynote speaker for the 2022 Elon Sport Management Symposium, which delved into the “Changing Dynamics in Sports Media.”

A team of sport management and statistics majors won its division in the 2022 Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) case competition, analyzing and presenting ways to increase the action in a baseball game.

�������޹�����Ʒ’s Sport Management Department will host its annual symposium on Wednesday, April 20, featuring a keynote conversation and two expert-led panel discussions. The in-person event will address the “Changing Dynamics in Sports Media.”

As one of the lead designers on NBC’s on-air graphic design team, LaPlante created and updated graphics for Super Bowl LVI and its millions of viewers.

The sport management major, who recently completed an internship with the Super Bowl-winning Rams, credits School of Communications faculty and staff for putting her in a position to achieve her professional goals.

Professor of Exercise Science Eric Hall is the principal investigator on the grant, titled, “Building a meaningful mentoring program with and for Black college athletes at a predominately White institution,” and was awarded $24,665 from The Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics.

In conjunction with the Student Professional Development Center, the School of Communications hosted the COM Meet and Greet on Feb. 22, attracting seven organizations representing a variety of communications-related industries.
