The elementary education graduate was one of 10 Atlanta educators honored for improving student achievement and student self-esteem in and out of the classroom.

Associate Professor of Education Stephen Byrd, Assistant Professor of Education  Jeffrey Carpenter, and Assistant Professor of Education Scott Morrison each presented at the North Carolina Association of Colleges of Teacher Education Fall Forum in Raleigh, N.C., on Sept. 24.

The group presented at the North Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children (NCaeyc) Annual Conference in Raleigh

President Emeritus J. Fred Young visited campus on Sept. 18 to share stories of desegregating the Lynchburg City Schools in Virginia, where he worked as superintendent in the late 1960s prior to serving as Elon's president for a quarter century.

North Carolina's public television station visited ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· in July to report on the success of an educational program that inspires and assists young children from the local community with learning to read.

The assistant professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program co-authored the article in the journal Professional Development in Education and the peer-reviewed chapter in the Handbook of Research on Teacher Education in the Digital Age.
