Alexandra Solender Boyd '12 was named the National PhysTEC Teacher of the Year for her work at Holly Springs High School in Holly Springs, N.C.

The award honors distinguished professionals in the field of leisure and recreation who are considered to be a positive role model epitomizing the values and desired outcomes of recreation and demonstrates enthusiasm for the profession.  

Jessica Wery, assistant professor of education, has served in leadership roles with the international nonprofit during the past four years. 

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities to recent graduates in more than 140 countries, with approximately 1,900 grants awarded annually in all fields of study. 

The Winter Term course offering through the Study USA program at Elon focuses on getting a firsthand look at the political process and learning from a broad range of professionals working in the nation's capital. 

Deanna Beckham is now the Math I educator at Eastern Alamance High School.

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·'s teacher education programs have pledged to pursue new principles for the integration of technology in teacher education defined by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Technology.

Mark McCann '01 is among a handful of educators from New Jersey to be nominated this year for the award. 

The Elon Teaching Fellows and the School of Education present the senior director of professional development at Gender Spectrum and the talk "It's ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· All of Us: Expanding Understandings of Gender" in Lakeside Meeting Rooms at 7 p.m.

The National Council on Teacher Quality placed ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· above the 90th percentile based on the quality of its teacher education programs.
