Research from two School of Education faculty and two current undergraduate students was presented at the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education Annual Conference.

An April 1 dinner and ceremony included an address by Paula Stephan, a professor of economics at Georgia Southern University who is a Phi Beta Kappa visiting scholar. 

Kristen O'Neill's research titled, "Reading to Succeed: An examination of Interests and Motivations of Struggling Pre-Adolescent Readers," has been presented twice at the North Carolina Reading Association Conference, SURE at Elon, and most notably, at the Hawaii International Conference on Education.

Bullock, dean of the School of Education, talked with WFDD reporter Keri Brown for a segment on how the state is looking at ways to address the shortage. 

Having watched physical education majors struggle with engaging students in a meaningful reflective process while teaching cooperative learning and adventure-based learning, the associate professor of wellness and her co-authors developed the "Sunday afternoon drive" debrief model to provide the framework for a student-centered reflection for upper elementary through university-age students. 

Rozana Carducci, associate professor of education and graduate director of the Master of Arts in Higher Education program, co-edited a book recently published by Stylus Publishing.

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· trustees met on March 11 and granted tenure and approved promotions for several faculty members.

The School of Education has been selected to participate in the N.C. Early Learning and Literacy Impact Coalition through Deans for Impact.

The first ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· English Language Teaching Symposium was held Saturday, Feb. 16, bringing together more than 100 local educators for presentations, active learning sessions and two keynote presentations by national leaders in English language education. The ELT Symposium focused on the theme of "Bridging Divides | Creating Community."
