Twenty-four students met with communications professionals and alumni, receiving a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of several media organizations.

A pair of communications faculty members and a senior discussed the Elon News Network, which was recognized with several awards at the College Media Association gathering.

The Oct. 27 discussion between Yasmine Arrington '15, the founder of ScholarCHIPS and a Peace First fellow, and Secretary John B. King Jr. was broadcast live on Facebook. 

David Kennedy G’10 visited with this year’s Master of Arts in Interactive Media cohort, discussing his own experiences in the graduate program as well as his role creating themes for WordPress, responsible for about 25 percent of websites around the world.

The ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· journalism major and former Pendulum editor-in-chief started the Hearst Corp.’s two-year fellowship program in August, assigned to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Two alumni and a student also lead sessions at the conference, which was held Oct. 20-23 in Washington, D.C.
