Imploring students to serve the communities where they will live, the Rev. Richard McBride used his Commencement address on May 23, 2009, to encourage the largest graduating class in ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· history to find “the place where what you most need to do to fulfill your life intersects with what you believe the world most needs to have done.”

The Rev. Sam Wells, dean of Duke University Chapel, will deliver ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·’s 2010 Baccalaureate sermon on Friday, May 21, at 3 p.m. in the Koury Athletic Center.

Forty-two undergraduate and MBA students were inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma international business honor society Tuesday afternoon in a ceremony that welcomed honorary inductee Allen E. Gant Jr., a member of the university’s board of trustees and its immediate past chair.

Elon Career Services has started utilizing Google Map system technology to highlight student outcomes and networking opportunities. Maps have been created as part of the ongoing effort to highlight direct measures of student success to the campus community.

Some of the top students on campus were honored April 24, 2010, during an annual awards program that recognizes the accomplishments of African-American students at ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·.

Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences, recognized distinguished student and faculty achievement over the past year in a May 6 ceremony.

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·'s School of Education honored the academic excellence of 44 undergraduate and graduate students on May 3 as they were inducted into the Sigma Gamma Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education.

For the fourth consecutive year, a team from ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· has been recognized for its performance in the prestigious Bateman Competition, which annually showcases the work of public relations students around the country. Elon was one of 16 teams to receive an honorable mention in the 2010 competition.
