Several Elon Music and Performing Arts students competed at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition this past weekend and received top honors.

Brooke Greenberg '17, who uses the stage name Brooke Alexx, will be a contestant in the new NBC singing competition show representing her home state of New Jersey.

World-renowned soprano Angela Brown led master classes and one-on-one instruction with Elon's music, theater and arts administration students

The song cycle based on the poetry of Willa Cather debuts at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, in Whitley Auditorium in a performance by Miller, Senior Lecturer in Music Polly Cornelius and Professor Emerita Victoria Fischer Faw.

This world premier staging will be presented at A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater in Raleigh, NC on March 4, 5, and 6. See ncopera.org for more information. The opera is based on the accounts of William Still, abolitionist and author of The Underground Railroad Record.

The ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Organist presents a recital at the Elon Community Church celebrating the 40th anniversary of the installation of the Casavant Organ with several recitals, including W. Thomas Jones on March 6.

With music executives on campus for the LWIA conference, a panel on gender will take place in Turner Theatre along with a formal reception in the atrium. This event is free to all students and faculty.

The N.C. Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association each honored Fischer with their Teacher of the Year awards.

The conference seeks to promote the work of women, to combat identity-based exploitation and marginalization and to educate and empower future audio professionals to create an environment of inclusion and diversity.
