Henry Gabriel helps to shape the future of international commercial law at meetings in Rome, Santa Fe, London, and Washington, D.C.

Elon Law Professor Henry Gabriel recently participated in the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law's (UNIDROIT) Working Group Meeting on Principles of International Commercial Contracts in Rome. As a member of the Working Group, Gabriel is helping to draft the third edition of the Principles.

Recent scholarship and service by Elon Law faculty members includes: "An Overview of U.S. Law," a book co-authored by Steven Friedland, a casebook on tort law co-authored by Helen Grant, a book on teaching strategies for law professors co-authored by Howard Katz, a law review article on personal jurisdiction by Catherine Ross Dunham, and a series of news columns about the need to reform North Carolina's judicial selection system by Scott Gaylord, Andrew Haile, and Alan Woodlief.

New faculty members join ��޹��Ʒ School of Law

��޹��Ʒ School of Law announced the appointment of three new faculty members on August 24. Sonya C. Garza and David S. Levine will serve as assistant professors of law, specializing in family law and intellectual property law respectively, and Roland Smith, a member of the faculty at the Center for Creative Leadership, will serve as professor of leadership, a visiting faculty position for the 2009-10 academic year.

Greeson with the David Gergen Award for Leadership and Professionalism at the law school's inaugural commencement exercises, for her outstanding service to the law school, to the Greensboro community, to non-profit organizations and to the legal profession.
