Service, social and healing opportunities along with other special programs at Elon during January will commemorate the life and legacy of the late civil rights leader.

�������޹�����Ʒ’s School of Law and School of Health Sciences celebrated the pride and heritage of students who recognize their African roots in a Commencement eve program filled with laughs, cheers, and many boxes of tissues for the tears of joy of both graduates and their guests.

The Power and Place Collaborative's second collection of digital stories documenting the lives of Alamance County's Black community premiered Dec. 4 and are available at its website and through the African American Cultural Arts and History Center.

The Power and Place Collaborative is a partnership between �������޹�����Ʒ, Burlington's Mayco Bigelow Center, and the African American Cultural Arts and History Center. Students interviewed community members and edited their oral histories into short videos.

Battles, vice president of global diversity, inclusion and engagement for Pitney Bowes, discussed the current state and importance of DEI in the workplace to the Elon community on Nov. 9.

As part of their sophomore Periclean coursework, members of the Periclean Scholars Class of 2024 created interactive exercises and discussion questions related to the Common Reading, and worked with fellow Elon students as peer-educators to facilitate engagement with this text.

The new leader of the CREDE has been a member of the university community since 1998 and has been leading the center on an interim basis since June.

Best-selling and award-winning author Jason Reynolds delivered the Common Reading lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 21, focused on his work on this year's selection, "Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You."

The dean of the School of Communications was presented on Sept. 27 with Page’s Distinguished Service Award, recognizing her contributions to strengthen the role of corporate communications and public relations in business and society.

A recent conversation with �������޹�����Ʒ's inaugural director of inclusive excellence for graduate and professional education - first published in the Summer 2021 Elon Law News Bulletin - featured advice for promoting the values of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in both the classroom and the workspace.
