The North Carolina Open Government Coalition will hold its annual Sunshine Day Events at North Carolina A&T State University on March 9, 2020.

The recent Elon graduate was named the Hokies’ director of player development last summer and his early contributions have been lauded by fellow members of the Virginia Tech coaching staff.

Students can pick up these classes during the Drop/Add Period until Friday, Feb. 7 at 11:59 PM.

The event will be from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Student Professional Development Center, Moseley 140.

The lecturer in the School of Communications is one of four appointees joining the SPLC board consisting of educators, journalists, lawyers and students who advocate for student press freedom.

Sara Glines and Robyn Tomlin from publishing company McClatchy joined �������޹�����Ʒ students Jan. 14 to talk about some of the challenges facing local journalism and how the industry is adapting.

Stansberry, assistant professor of strategic communications, was joined in the discussion with host Tim Boyum by faculty members from Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Kelly Valerio’20 used the support she found at the Student Professional Development Center staff to build her professional network and understand the value of using keywords to land a job related to her passion for travel and her experience with the hospitality industry.

In collaboration with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Professor Lucinda Austin and funded by the Arthur W. Page Center, the School of Communications faculty member is studying how and when corporations should engage in social issues.
