Encouraged to “be brave for who you will become,” African-American students in Elon Law’s Class of 2018 were celebrated by family, friends, faculty and staff in a kente-donning program preceding Commencement.

The David Gergen Award for Leadership & Professionalism, bestowed each year at ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· School of Law’s Commencement, recognizes one student in the graduating class who embodies the highest levels of selfless leadership and service.

Graduates in Elon Law’s Class of 2018 were recognized with school and professional honors for advocacy, legal writing and research, academic excellence, and excellence in service.

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· School of Law conferred 102 degrees in a Commencement ceremony that featured an address by North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein, who reminded graduates of their duty to seek justice and to protect the rule of law in troubling times.

Barbara Cini L'11 will develop and execute a comprehensive development program that includes major gifts, corporation and foundation relations, donor relations, and alumni engagement.

Mark S. Jetton Jr. '06 L'09, a Charlotte criminal defense and personal injury attorney, is the first ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· and Elon Law alumnus selected to the board of judges, lawyers and business leaders who advise the university about the law school’s strategic growth.

Alumni of the downtown Greensboro law school can register now for events from June 1-2 that include a CLE at the law school, an awards program to celebrate alumni professional achievement, and a luncheon for the Class of 2013 as it marks its five-year reunion.
