Edwards has used connections established during her Public Health Practicum to find new career opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

An alumna of Elon's inaugural Year of Service Graduate Fellows program, Shelby Smith '15 is protecting the residents of Alamance County from COVID-19 as a communicable disease coordinator at the local health department.

As attorneys for the North Carolina General Assembly, Luke Gillenwater L’11 and Jeremy Ray L’11 assisted state lawmakers this spring with bipartisan legislation aimed at countering the economic and public health damage caused by COVID-19.
