The university’s three living presidents were honored at a special Founders Day College Coffee and tree planting on Tuesday as the institution celebrated its quasquicentennial with students, faculty and staff wearing maroon and gold as part of “A Day for Elon.”

The event celebrates the importance of philanthropy throughout Elon’s 125 years.

The celebration will be held March 11 as part of the university’s Founders Day activities.

Close to 3,310 personalized bricks were reserved as part of the campaign, which ended Dec. 1 and supports the university’s greatest needs.

A $1,000 check was presented Dec. 3, 2013, to leaders of ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·'s college access and success program.

The third and final year of the Worsley Match ended in October with former student-athletes giving back in record numbers.

Driven by dozens of dedicated volunteers, reunion giving programs helped raise more than $1.4 million for the university this year.

A music scholarship opened the door for Brandon Mitchell ’16 to take advantage of everything Elon has to offer.

Bacchus comes to Elon from Southwestern University in Texas and will help lead efforts to build a culture of philanthropy and alumni engagement.

Alumni from around the nation returned to campus to be part of this special procession that kicked off the university’s 2013 Fall Convocation headlined by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
