Elon Law’s Elder Law Clinic, led by clinic director Hannah Vaughan, sponsored a series of events in Greensboro this fall featuring Paul Greenwood, a pioneer in the prosecution of elder abuse in America.

One of ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·'s top scholars shared new work this fall into the evolution of Nazi laws that stripped Jews of their possessions during Hitler's reign and of the first genocide trials conducted after World War II.

Co//ab, a co-working facility for entrepreneurs and startup businesses, opened Nov. 17 in downtown Greensboro, one block from Elon Law, thanks to the combined efforts of the Greensboro Partnership Entrepreneur Connection, Action Greensboro, the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation and ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·.

The Nov. 7 forum featured insights from law scholars and collegiate athletics leaders. Practicing attorneys and other guests joined law students and faculty for a day of in-depth analysis and discussion.

Elon Law students participated in an Oct. 20 roundtable on public surveillance that included a presentation by Deven Desai, associate professor of law and ethics at the Georgia Institute of Technology Scheller College of Business.

Several candidates for the Supreme Court of North Carolina discussed their qualifications and vision for the state judicial system at an Oct. 13 Elon Law forum.

A panel of legal, law enforcement and political experts at a Sept. 23 Elon Law forum discussed legal and policy issues surrounding race and policing in the United States. The event was organized in the wake of the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and subsequent protests and police responses.

The article spotlights the assistance of Elon Law students on behalf of a family from Afghanistan fleeing persecution and threats from al-Qaida for their work as translators for a medical organization.

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· professors and students filled McKinnon Hall on Aug. 27, 2014, to discuss race, privilege and justice following the Missouri police shooting death of an unarmed black man and subsequent protests that have galvanized the nation.

More than 100 private practice and nonprofit attorneys, law students and immigration services leaders attended the August 1 seminar. Topics covered included social group formulation for gang-based asylum claims, strategies for representing immigrant juveniles, parole in place for military families and an inside perspective on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Asylum Program.
