During the two-day trip, 29 students visited with communications professionals and ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· alumni, receiving a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of several prominent organizations, including CNN, Jackson Spalding and the Atlanta Falcons.

Student volunteers are needed to help run former Library Director MJ Wilkerson's retirement party.

The on-campus event will be Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. in Inman Admissions Welcome Center. 

The student media organization showed off some of its student artists at a concert at Fat Frogg in October.

Tess Taylor, acclaimed author of "Work & Days," will deliver the keynote lecture of the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta, on Monday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 pm in McKinnon Hall, Moseley Center.

With "ENGage your Passions, PoWeR your Lives!" ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·'s English Department joins forces with the Student Professional Development Center to host an inaugural career event designed for majors, minors and all students interested in the humanities. The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Lakeside meeting rooms from 4:15 to 6:30 p.m. 

The grant will allow Biology major Alina Iwan '19 to travel to the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama in 2019 to continue a faculty mentored research project. 

The group of 18 students, faculty and staff volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank in Southeast North Carolina to sort and clean donated goods in the first of a series of service trips to the area to assist with Hurricane Florence relief.

The program has seen continued growth and success in recent years, with Elon named as a top producer of Peace Corps volunteers by the service organization earlier this year. A fall kick-off celebration for the program will be held on Oct. 30.
