The Sigma Delta Pi Hispanic Honor Society inducts 18 students to acknowledge excellence in studies of Spanish literature, culture and language.

Hwayeon Ryu, assistant professor of mathematics, published a paper in Journal of Theoretical Biology on investigating stochastic behaviors in the macrophage differentiation process.

Elon by Design received a $6,000 grant from CAA in support of its “Empowering Students to Lead Climate Resilient Change” project in collaboration with James Madison University and Drexel University. This project will further inform Design Thinking initiatives both locally and globally on how to best promote sustainability and resilience tools for students.

Assistant Professor Mustafa Akben has introduced several artificial intelligence tools into a fall semester course that provides students with the essential skills for effective leadership in the workplace.

Professor David S. Levine will work for two years with other scholars in an interdisciplinary program founded by the University of Milan dedicated to study legal informatics, cyberspace law and “digital transformation law.” 

Their research, “Cleopatra on Screen: How Western Biases and Orientalism Informed Early Film Adaptations of Cleopatra,” examined stage and screen representations of the famous Egyptian queen — and the ideologies behind them.
