¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·

During the last year, ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· graduate Alex Hadden ’13 has worked on a documentary, titled “BRAND: A Second Coming," that features entertainment personality Russell Brand. The film will have its world premiere March 13 at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.

Alice Su, a young journalist based in Amman, Jordan, will present an on-campus lecture on Thursday, March 12, at 4:15 p.m. The event will be held in the McEwen Communications Building, room 011.

The freelancer will host a presentation titled “Interim Lives,” discussing her work abroad that focuses on topics relating to refugees, religion, China and the Middle East. The event will be held in the McEwen Communications Building, room 011.

The School of Communications professor addressed long-standing traits and skills essential in the advertising industry. The visit was part of the University of South Carolina’s Advertising Speaker Series. 

School of Communications seniors Marisa Moody and Erin Turner traveled to the Big Apple in February to participate in the American Advertising Federation’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program, the advertising industry’s premier multicultural recruiting initiative.

Several ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· graduates earned top honors in the North Carolina Press Association’s 2014 News, Editorial and Photojournalism Contest. The alumni winners, ​led by Kristin Zachary '09 and Scott Muthersbaugh '06, were celebrated at the association's annual Winter Institute Feb. 26.

Sixteen ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· students, including one soon-to-be Internet sensation, took part in Hollywood’s night to celebrate cinematic achievements in the film industry.

During his campus visit in January, Ken Haines, a 34-year veteran with Raycom Sports, provided ¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ· students with an inside look into the ever-changing landscape of sports broadcasting. 

¸£ÀûÑÇÖÞ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·’s student-run strategic communications agency was named a top award winner at the Triangle Advertising Federation’s 2015 American Advertising Awards Gala. The event was held Feb. 20 in downtown Raleigh.
