�������޹�����Ʒ recognized 70 first-generation students – the institution’s largest group to date – during its May 20 stole ceremony, highlighting the strength, support and achievement of the first-gen community.

The assistant professor of strategic communications published new research examining how communication students experience belonging, support and self-expression during a period of DEI retrenchment in higher education. The study explores how communicative climate, political identity and perceptions of voice shape students’ experiences on campus, while challenging assumptions about political bias in higher education.

Working with TikTok and Elon alumna Julia Denick ’15, students in Professor Lee Bush’s Strategic Campaigns courses spent the spring semester developing campaigns designed to help brands and businesses better understand the platform’s influence on consumer discovery and purchasing decisions.

The exercise science and sport management double major recently served as lead author on a research publication in the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics, capping an undergraduate experience shaped by mentorship, curiosity and an increasing passion for research.

After graduation, Selikoff hopes to build a career in sports media, communications or event operations. Whatever path she ultimately takes, she leaves Elon with the kind of hands-on experience many young professionals spend years trying to find.
