Elections packets are available onlineor from the SGA office (Moseley 221A).

The completed application must be returned to the SGA Office (Moseley 221A) no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009.

There will be a meeting of ALL candidates at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 in Moseley 215.

The opportunity to give a speech to the Student Body will be available on Sunday, September 6th at 5:00 PM. The location for speeches will be held at the plaza in front of the Academic Village.

As a result of this dinner, there will be no regular SGA Senate Meeting.  The new SGA Senate will convene on April 2, 2009 at 7:30pm in Moseley 215.

Additionally, this event will serve as the ‘ceremonial’ swearing-in of the new SGA Executive Officers for the 2009-2010 term.

As a result of this event, SGA will not be holding a weekly Senate Meeting.  The new SGA Senate will begin meeting on April 2, 2009 in Moseley 215 at 7:30pm.

Instead, our next meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Moseley 215. 

Each year SGA allocates $ 1000.00 to Belk Library for the purchase of movie DVDs. Belk Library matches this allocation each year and will be spending $2000 on purchasing DVDs for you to check out FREE to watch for your enjoyment. Since half of this money is from the Student Activity Fees, we think it is important for you to give feedback into what DVDs you would like the library to purchase.

Follow the link at the right to make your suggestions. Just place “SGA” in the ‘Your Name’ or ‘Additional Comments’ fields. Make sure you list a title of the movie or TV show you are requesting and don’t worry about the ‘Author’ or ‘Publisher’ fields—simply place a “?” in those fields.

On the agenda:

1. Elaine Durr will speak at the beginning of the meeting on the University’s environmental sustainability initiatives.

2. The Senate will vote on whether to approve $160,000 to endow and begin allocations with the Fun Fund, a new programming opportunity.

3. Legislation concerning the establishment of designated smoking areas on campus.

The event will be held today from 1-3 p.m. in the SGA Office and will feature refreshments.
