Safe Rides is looking for student leaders!
We need all majors, any year in school, no prior Safe Rides experience required. We’re looking for people who can put in about 5 hours each week, including 2 scheduled office hours, who want to help make Safe Rides into the organization it has the potential to be. Fresh ideas welcome, we’re looking at some exciting changes in the upcoming year, and we want YOU to be part of it!

Positions available:

Volunteer Coordinator, 1 position, to start ASAP
-Recruit volunteers, both individuals and groups, to volunteer for Safe Rides
-Volunteer recognition
-Help to build base of regular volunteers
-Communicate with volunteers before and after volunteering
-Assist with tracking volunteer numbers
-Chair committee of volunteers to help Safe Rides become the organization it can be

Public Relations Coordinator, 1 position, train now, full role to start 2008-2009 academic year
-Promote Safe Rides around campus, through various forms of media
-Work with volunteer coordinator to recruit volunteers and on volunteer recognition
-Collaborate with off-campus groups as needed
-Chair committee of volunteers to help Safe Rides become the organization it can be

Captain Coordinator, 1 position, train now, full role to start 2008-2009 academic year
-Work with Safe Rides captains on needs of volunteers
-Relay volunteer concerns when necessary
-Support captains in their roles
-Chair committee of volunteers to help Safe Rides become the organization it can be

Captains, multiple positions, train now, full role to start 2008-2009 academic year (smaller time commitment than coordinator positions)
-Support volunteers in their Safe Rides duties
