Alum listings in the Biographical Section will include home addresses, telephone numbers and names of spouses and children (if applicable) as well as business and professional information. Alum names will also appear in four other sections of the directory: Class Year, Geographical, Career Networking and E-Mail Address. Alumni will be able to locate other alums listed under current name, as well as name used as a student.

Lambert. Provost Gerald Francis talked with parents about the National Survey of Student Engagement report, and introduced Paul Parsons, new dean of the school of communications and Steven House, new dean of Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences.

A luncheon for parents council members and their sons and daughters was held by Lake Mary Nell and Sweet Signatures serenaded the group. At the business meeting after lunch committee reports were given on:

Admissions, Career, Development, Events, Student Life and Communications. Parents Council members also hosted and assisted at Family Weekend events.

Marvin Morgan ’71; faculty member Barth Strempek; senior Donnie Wickline; Elon President Leo M. Lambert and Parents Council member Roger Wise P’02.

A video celebrating the completion of the Elon Vision was shown, followed by remarks from President Lambert about Elon’s consistent, continuing community spirit. Dr. Lambert also discussed key points of the NewCentury@Elon strategic plan, which outlines Elon’s future growth.

Gary Whitmer, whose daughter, Cresta, is a 1999 Elon graduate, was the lucky winner of an Elon house flag.
