Three graduating students from the Class of 2019 along with their faculty mentors presented their master’s projects. An educational innovation project implemented by two faculty members was also featured as part of a session.

Elon Physician Assistant Studies program shares research at NCAPA poster session /u/news/2018/02/28/elon-physician-assistant-studies-program-shares-research-at-ncapa-poster-session/ Wed, 28 Feb 2018 13:00:00 +0000 /u/news/2018/02/28/elon-physician-assistant-studies-program-shares-research-at-ncapa-poster-session/ The North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA) hosted its first peer-reviewed poster session at the winter conference held Feb 24-27, 2018, in Durham, N.C. . 

The poster session was established as a joint endeavor by NCAPA and the North Carolina Physician Assistant Program Directors’ Council as a way to highlight the work of physician assistant clinicians, students and educators. Elon was well-represented at the session that included faculty scholarship and student master’s projects from the Classes of 2017 and 2018. "A Dedicated Leadership Module in Physician Assistant Education," by Tracey Thurnes, assistant professor of physician assistant studies and assistant director of clinical education

"PA-rtnering for Healthy Habits Health Fair: A community education outreach project," by Amanda Ferri, Shaun Lynch, assistant professor of physician assistant studies and academic coordinator, and Dr. Diane Duffy, assistant professor of physician assistant studies and director of clinical education. 

"Augmenting Reality in PA Education," by Melissa Murfin, department chair, program director and associate profesor of physician assistant studies

"Prediabetes risk screening assessments may predict pathologic glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina," by Jamie Rose, and Melissa Murfin, department chair, program director and associate profesor of physician assistant studies
