In addition to providing a forum for the interchange of ideas, methods, and practical research applications to learning, CRLA offers International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC). Since 1989 more than 1,000 college tutor training programs around the globe have received ITTPC at one or more levels.

James Holsinger, director of learning assistance, prepared and submitted extensive documentation regarding Elon's tutor-training program that outlined curriculum content and delivery, observations of tutoring sessions and assessment plans.

CRLA certification provides recognition and reinforcement for the successful work of tutors, sets professional standards of skills for tutors and augments the program for administrators and institutions.
