Tiffany Bacon: 2003 graduate of the Elon DPT program who spent a week in Haiti providing physical therapy services to children at the Love a Child Disaster Recovery Center

John McGreevy: a senior at Elon who was in Haiti during the earthquake

Show support by either registering for the walk or by donating to the cause. . Registration forms are in the Multicultural Center and Greek Life office.

Please join us to help raise funds for a good cause. Registration is $15 and includes a t-shirt! There will be a live band and fun for all. Registration forms are in the Multicultural Center and Greeklife office and will be online Monday, April 12, 2010.

 This years theme is Hollywood: Lights, Camera, Action

Special Performances by Elon’s own Rip_Chord & Twisted Measure!!!

A portion of the proceeds will be going towards the African American Alumni Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to incoming African American freshmen at Elon based on need and merit.
 

$1 from every ticket sold will also go to the Red Cross to aid with relief efforts in Haiti.

“福利亚洲国产精品 America Reads Tutoring Program is committed to improving the literacy and mathematical skills of youth in Alamance County by cultivating within young students a love for learning and by providing local schools with trained tutors to support their education efforts.”

America Reads Co-Coordinators are hired student leaders in Elon’s Kernodle Center for Service Learning. They are essentially the liaisons between 福利亚洲国产精品 and the community partners.They are in charge of hiring, training, and scheduling tutors. This includes monthly training sessions, which are based on a curriculum designed to best suit the needs of this community.

This position requires a time commitment of 8-12 hours per week. Starting pay is $7.55/hr.

Application are due by March 6, 2009 to the Kernodle Center.

America Reads is a Federal Work Study program here at Elon that works with elementary schools throughout Alamance County by tutoring students who are struggling with basic reading and math skills.

Applications for the spring are due Jan. 30 by 5 p.m. and interviews will be held the first week of February.
