Elon Outdoors Fall Break Rafting Trip

Don’t miss your last chance to join Elon Outdoors as we take a trip to West Virginia for two days of rafting down the Gauley River. We will be rafting both the upper and lower sections of the Gauley which contain some of the best rapids in the Eastern United States. The Gauley River is in a gorgeous area of West Virginia and is known all over the U.S. for its amazing rafting and boating opportunities. Don’t miss your chance to come along on a great trip. Elon Outdoors Fall Break Rafting Trip Oct. 12-15

Fall break is coming up soon. Luckily for those of you who don’t have plans, or wont be going home, Elon Outdoors will be taking a trip to West Virginia for two days of rafting down the Gauley River. We will be rafting both the upper and lower sections of the Gauley which contain some of the best rapids in the Eastern United States. The Gauley River is in a gorgeous area of West Virginia and is known all over the U.S. for its amazing rafting and boating opportunities. Don’t miss your chance to come along on a great trip. The trip dates are Oct. 12 -15.

If you are interested in joining Elon Outdoors, there will be two interest meetings on: Monday 10/1 at 5:30pm, and Tuesday 10/2 at 6:30pm. Sign ups will begin at 6:00am on Wednesday 10/3. (Between the gym and Beck pool)

Interest meeting for Elon Outdoors hike at Pilot Mountain

Elon Outdoors will be kicking of the fall semester with its first trip on Saturday, Sept. 15. We will be going to Pilot Mountain State Park for a day hike. This is a great opportunity to get off campus and see some of the surrounding area. The Pilot Mountain area is gorgeous with an amazing 360 degree view from its top. The hike will also be a wonderful opportunity to explore the various wildlife and flora in what is a very well protected North Carolina State Park.

The cost of the trip is $10, which will cover the gas for transportation. You will need to bring your own lunch.

If you are interested in coming along, you must attend an interest meeting on either Monday, Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. or Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. These meetings will be held between Beck pool and the Gym inside the Koury Center. If you for some reason can not make it to one of these meetings but still want to come, please contact Bryon Houghton with the information below.

Elon Outdoors Sea Kayaking Trip

Elon Outdoors’ Sea Kayaking trip will be heading to the coast of North Carolina this weekend. Sign ups are still going on, but you need to hurry if you want a spot. The cost of the trip is $85. We will be leaving at 5pm Friday April 27th and returning around 4:30pm Sunday April 29th. It’s going to be a great chance to get off campus for the weekend and blow off some steam in the water.

If you are interested in signing up, please ask about the Elon Outdoors Sea Kayaking Trip at the front desk of Campus Recreation.

Elon Outdoors Sea Kayaking Trip April 27-29

Come along with Elon Outdoors as we join ECU and head to the coast of North Carolina to get out on the ocean in sea kayaks. We will leave Friday, April 27, and return Sunday, April 29. We will learn about local wildlife and marshlands while paddling to Cape Lookout Lighthouse. The cost of the trip is $85, which includes food, transportation and all equipment costs. Interest meetings will be held on Monday, April 16 at 5:30pm and Tuesday, April 17 at 6:00pm in Koury Commons. Elon Outdoors Sea Kayaking, April 27-29

Haven’t been to the beach yet this year? Come along with Elon Outdoors as we head to the North Carolina coast for a weekend of sea kayaking and great ocean fun. We will be joining up with Eastern Carolina University at Cape Lookout from April 27-29th. This trip is for anyone who loves the ocean, loves to Kayak or just wants to get off campus for a while. Come by the Elon Outdoors resource room for more information or attend one of our interest meetings on Monday, April the 16th @ 5:30 pm and Tuesday, April the 17th @ 6:00 pm. The cost of the trip will be $85. Hope to hear from you!

Wintergreen ski trip; interest meetings Feb. 5 & 6

Join Elon Outdoors Saturday February 10th as we go to Wintergreen ski resort for a full day of snow and fun! We will leave Elon Saturday morning and arrive just in time for the slopes to open at Wintergreen, then ski and board all day until closing time.

We will return to elon around 8:30pm Saturday night.

If you are interested in coming along, there are two interest meetings Feb. 5th at 5:30pm and Feb. 6th at 6:00pm in Koury Gym room 141.

The cost will be 76$ and if you need rentals it will be an additional 40$ for a board and 35$ for skis.
