This position will be responsible for provision of physical therapy services for infants, toddlers and their families enrolled in the North Carolina Infant Toddler Program (N.C. ITP). The CDSA is the local lead agency for the Infant Toddler Program (ITP), a federally mandated program under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which serves children ages birth to 3 years, who have or who are at risk for developmental disabilities, and their families.
The primary functions of this position are to provide physical therapy evaluations and treatment, to conduct developmental evaluations of birth to 3-year-old children to determine eligibility for the Infant-Toddler Program, and to assess child and family needs for early intervention supports and services, including evaluation for appropriate adaptive equipment. 听This position will be based in Blue Ridge Children鈥檚 Developmental Services Agency (CDSA), serving Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, Yancey, Ashe, Alleghany, and Wilkes counties. All evaluations and services are provided as a member of a multidisciplinary team at the Blue Ridge Children鈥檚 Developmental Services Agency (CDSA). 听

路听听听听听听 Considerable knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, methods, modalities, and their proper application with the population served.
路听听听听听听 Ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct training and in-service education for CDSA staff and private providers regarding Gross Motor developmental skills and intervention strategies
路听听听听听听 Ability to prepare and evaluate reports, including medical, social and departmental records
路听听听听听听 Ability to evaluate patient response and progress and to present evaluative reports in case staffings and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
路听听听听听听 Ability to work effectively with clients, clients鈥 families, medical personnel, other CDSA staff members, other service providers and community partners in a sensitive and respectful manner.
Management Preferences:

Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of North Carolina.
