Elon鈥檚 Doctor of Physical Therapy program and Physician Assistant Studies program welcomed new classes of students following a highly selective admissions process. The three-year, full-time DPT Program enrolled 47 students while the 24-month, full-time PA Program enrolled 38 students.
Housed within The School of Health Sciences,聽Elon’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and Physician Assistant Studies program have both welcomed new classes of students following a highly selective admissions process.
Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2024
Elon鈥檚 newest cohort of physical therapy graduate students represents undergraduate in-state institutions such as the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Appalachian State University, as well as out-of-state institutions including the University of South Carolina at Columbia, Florida State University and Georgia State University, among many others.
The average age of the incoming DPT students is 24 years old and they hail聽from 14 states聽including New York, Louisiana, California and Illinois. These students have an average undergraduate GPA of 3.53 and an average GRE score of 304.
Elon鈥檚 Doctor of Physical Therapy program has built a reputation for excellence. In 2016,聽the program was reaccredited聽by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy (CAPTE) and commended for its Self-Study Report. The Department of Physical Therapy聽Education was created in 1996 offering a master鈥檚 degree and enrolled its first doctoral students in 2003.
Physician Assistant Studies Class of 2023
The Physician Assistant Studies program welcomed its newest class of聽students who represent聽undergraduate institutions such as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, Indiana University, Clemson University and Boston College.
The students have an average age of 27 years old and start the program with聽a variety of health care experience, with each bringing an average of 3,500 hours worked in health care. Their average undergraduate GPA is 3.70. These new students come to Elon from 18 states including Washington, Maryland, Michigan and Colorado.
The Class of 2023聽is the 10th class for Elon鈥檚 Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program, which enrolled its charter class in January 2013. In 2016,聽the program achieved a major milestone with recognition and continued accreditation聽by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, the national accrediting body.
