福利亚洲国产精品 is hosting an online discussion on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with historian Douglas Brinkley, the Katherine Tsanoff Brown Chair in Humanities and professor of history at Rice University, the CNN presidential historian and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair. The discussion will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is available at .
Monumental in his contribution to American culture, Brinkley effectively applies historical lessons to our present experience. His presentation will provide up-to-the-minute focus on hot topics including the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic; race relations in America鈥檚 past, present and future; and the highs and lows of the United States presidency.
Brinkley’s most recent book, “American Moonshot: John F. Kennedy and the Great Space Race,” was a New York Times bestseller. His 2012 book “Cronkite,” a biography of renowned news anchor Walter Cronkite, won the Sperber Prize while his 2007 book “The Great Deluge:聽Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast” received the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award. Brinkley has received a Grammy Award for “Presidential Suite” and seven honorary doctorates in American Studies. His two-volume annotated “The Nixon Tapes” recently won the Arthur S. Link 鈥 Warren F. Kuehl Prize.
Brinkley is a member of the Century Association, Council of Foreign Relations and the James Madison Council of the Library of Congress.聽He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and three children.
